Myself and my group had plenty of ideas and as we have gone through the lessons we have developed our ideas and chosen a storyline in which we all decided on.
When first listening to the song 'Paramore - the only exception', I had plenty of ideas at that point in which I contributed to my group and we used them. These ideas consisted of editing skills and the main storyline.
The video will start with the main female (me) walking down the corridor and into the studio room. There will be a close up of the recording light as it turns on. This is when the intro of the song will begin. There is then a close up of a hand pushing the faders up. Then a close up of real to real and finally, a shot of the singer in the recording room, taking the mic.
The first two verses of 'The only exception' are 'When I was younger, I saw my daddy cry and curse at the wind. He broke his own heart and I watched as he tried to reassemble it. And my momma swore that she would never let herself forget. And that was the day that I promised I would never sing of love if it does not exist.' With these two verses, I thought that it would be interesting to use stop motion stop. In which I will draw the pictures (kid like drawings) of her and her parents and put this story into drawings. The kids drawings will show that it is set in the past and it was her past. Then the line will end with the main character (me) ripping the heart into two. Myself standing there, holding it. Whilst others are rushing past. This has zoomed out of the heart picture to form the present reality. The paper heart falls and the camera follows it as it does.
The chorus will be a time lapse of the singer standing in the middle of a busy street. Lip singing the lyrics.
The second verse will involved members of the band. At a specific part of the second verse, there will be a shot of a guitar player in which he strums the guitar in the recording studio. This soon moves on to the storyline of the song. The main female breaks up with her boyfriend. This shows that she has had 'love' in the past but none of them have worked like the one she has now.
The second chorus is a shot of the main female walking into her room and looking around. Dissapointed and sad. She begins to get angry as the music starts to get louder into the bridge.
The bridge approaches and she begins to throw stuff in the room. This showing that people have let her down in the past. It then uses a shot reverse shot to the band in the studio. Followed by the main female ripping pages from the photo album and throwing them away (of her past boyfriends) until she comes across a picture of her 'Only exception'. This picture she picks up of the floor and keeps. This shot crosses with the band in the studio. The ripped heart at the beginning soon slowly comes together. A shot of the main female holds the picture, the camera slowly zooming in at the picture. Whilst the camera cross cuts with the band and then finally returns to the photo. A zoom in and cross fade (overlapping) with the ripped heart that finally emerges. These shots will be cut with the pace being quite 'Snappy'. This is to add the effect of the song and making it seem as though she has her life back on to track and found that 'Only exception.'
